Sjuwana Springfield has her roots in the great state of Alabama, home to hundreds if not thousands of gospel artists that go from community to community spreading good southern gospel music. Born and raised in a religious environment, Sjuwana was always a part of this culture. Founded by one of her sons, the group Sjuwana and the Children of God was formed in 1992 in the Cincinnati area.
The group has been operating in full force as “Atmosphere Shifters” for nearly 30 years. Today, the group consists of family and close loved ones ministering through song as well as playing of instruments: Wooten, Marquita Lyles, Jeffrey Davis, Quintez Matthews, and Tajman Ball.

The group’s songwriting and performance style is not at all typical. In fact, it's quite unique, especially in today’s industry. Over the years, Sjuwana and the Children of God have received numerous awards and accolades. Some of these include Best New Artist of the Year from the American Gospel Festival in Birmingham, Alabama, Best Artist Award from the Esther Wooten Gospel Quartet Convention and Best Gospel Quartet from the "I Hear Music Awards." They have performed across the United States, as well as abroad in places such as Italy, Spain, Germany, and France. COG has multiple recording projects under their musical belt. From the earliest recording, "Just Havin' Church", to their more recent musical release, “The Blood”, which paints a vivid picture of Jesus’ sacrifice for us all. With every drip of blood that fell from the body of Jesus, He bore every one of our sins and every drop is truly an indication of His love for us.
